ATLANTA — Authorities Tuesday released the mug shot and warrant for the man accused of planning a shooting the day before at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Authorities said Billy Joe Cagle brought 27 rounds of ammunition and a Springfield AR-15 rifle to the airport in his truck, but the shooting attempt was thwarted thanks to a family tip and quick law enforcement responses.

In a news conference hosted by the Atlanta Police Department on Tuesday afternoon, which featured Chief Darin Schierbaum and the officers praised for subduing the suspect before violence broke out, federal charges were announced against Cagle, who will now be transferred into federal law enforcement custody.
