HAMPTON, Va. — AC Cordoza, a Republican state delegate representing the 86th District and running for reelection in November, said he was "threatened with physical violence" by a staffer of his Democratic opponent, Virgil Thornton, while speaking with constituents at the Hampton Registrar's Office. Thornton claimed the delegate was the one who threatened the staffer, which Thornton said was his niece.

Hampton police said no charges were filed in this incident, but that they responded to document it.

Still, Cordoza's campaign provided 13News Now with documents that show an emergency protective order was granted for Cordoza.
