RICHLAND, Wash. – Richland High School senior Marjorie Bunch has been awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal, a prestigious honor from the United States Congress, Richland School District announced .
The Congressional Award, established in 1979, challenges young Americans to set and achieve personal goals in voluntary public service, personal development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration.
To earn the Gold Medal, participants must complete 400 hours of service, 200 hours each in personal development and physical fitness and a five-day expedition. The process typically takes at least 24 months.
Marjorie began her journey in 2022, engaging in activities that reflect her commitment to community and growth, RSD said.
