WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - After hours of public comment, the Wichita City Council voted against two of the most debated items in a sweeping housing reform package — measures that would have added “source of income” as a protected class and created a rental registry for landlords with code violations.

Dozens of residents packed City Hall on Tuesday to share their experiences and concerns about housing conditions and affordability in Wichita.
