KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — While we await a decision on whether Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello is staying on Rocky Top or leaving to become the next San Francisco Giants' manager, fans packed the outfield porches to watch Tuesday's scrimmage.
Amidst the uncertainty, it was business as usual on the field. Vitello ran the scrimmage and interacted normally with players and coaching staff.
Fans in attendance said they wanted to show their support for Vitello with the hope that an outpouring of community support might help sway his decision to stay. If he does decide to leave, however, many fans said they'll understand.
