HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — In recent years, Houston County school administrators say they pushed their kids to progress in test taking such as the ACAP which is a state comprehensive assessment test.
They say their scores showed a significant amount of growth -- their school system came in at #1 in Math and #4 in English Language Arts.
This is compared to other county schools systems similar to Houston County --- as they typically have about the same amount of funding.
"Although our scores are high on the upper end of that where we are 1 and 4 our funding is 62 out of 67 schools, so we are doing more with less and that's credited to our teachers buying in of our administrators and the message of Mr. White," Vince Wade said.
