DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Much drier air is filtering into The Wiregrass, which will quickly lead to an increase in fire risk.
After a muggier Wednesday morning, much drier air will become firmly established once again, dropping relative humidity values to as a low as 10% areawide. Mixed with the dryness from the ongoing drought, we will see more favorable conditions for fires to develop and spread.
This risk will remain elevated through at least Friday.
The only limiting factors will be light winds and more moisture entering our area Friday and Saturday.
Regardless, if you are burning outside, do so with plenty of caution and heed advice/potential burn bans from local and other officials.
