Tulane football's new City Edition uniforms pay homage to the streets of New Orleans. So, naturally, the helmets are covered in Mardi Gras beads and plenty of cracks.

Tulane introduced the special alternate uniforms on social media Tuesday. The Green Wave will wear the new gear during their homecoming game against Florida Atlantic on November 15.

Each helmet is hand-painted and designed to "capture the energy and creativity of New Orleans." The light gray background and cracks are meant to mimic the New Orleans sidewalks.

The front of each helmet says "Uptown," and the back is stamped with a "Roll Wave. "

The jerseys are baby blue and feature wrought iron on the shoulders. The players' names on the back are in street titles.
