JEFFERSON, Ohio — Nine members of the village of Jefferson’s Fire Department are back on the job after resigning earlier this month.

"I urge our employees, members of our community and elected officials to put aside their differences as this public body works to mend and strengthen things that have been done,” said Steven Sekanina, a member of council. “They could’ve been done differently.”

There have been conflicting reports about how many fire department employees were part of the resignations. During a previous council meeting, 3News heard testimony indicating 13.

However during Monday night’s council meeting, Sekanina said there were nine members of the department, including three captains, five firefighters and one dispatcher who stepped down.
