SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO/AP) — Sen. Mike Rounds and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, both South Dakota Republicans, are each putting the ball in Democrats' court as the federal government shutdown presses on. Thune was full of praise for President Donald Trump Tuesday.
"Thank you for your leadership, and we will continue to be good partners and work with you to get the work done for the American people," Thune said at the White House. "And let's hope that the Democrats get wise and starting perhaps even today vote to reopen the government."
Both Thune and Rounds were at the White House Tuesday.
