ALBERT LEA, Minn.- The Freeborn County Fair Ground will be hosting Albert Lea's annual Oktoberween festivities starting Thursday, Oct. 23.
According to the convention and visitors bureau the celebration seeks to blend the fun atmosphere of Oktoberfest with the Halloween season through a variety of activities.
The event is set to feature a haunted house, archery tag, a beer garden, live music and a kids carnival with air hockey, a bounce house and face painting.
Konrad Hawkinson, assistant director of CVB says he has been helping to run the event since it first started 3 years ago.
"It's an awesome thing to have in our community, a lot of people are looking for that haunt, they want the thrills and we provide it here," Hawkinson said.
