The Calgary election. It wasn't supposed to end this way

Looks like the city hall bigshots are off the hook.

There was no full-blown revolt, no righteous rebellion against the high-and-mighties at Calgary city hall.

No clear signal their comfy cocoon insulated from the real world was in peril. They win again.

All the outrage, the anger, the disappointment, the discontent was more talk than walk.

The first clue was the turnout of voters. It stank.

It stank more than the lousy turnout in the city election four years ago.
