NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) -- New York officers helped a woman deliver a baby on the side of the road on Sunday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a woman in Seaford who had pulled over to the side of the road while she was in active labor. The 35-year-old woman stopped near 2000 Seamans Neck Road at around 4:45 a.m., according to authorities.
Nassau County Police medics Salvatore Ferro, Michael White, and Police medic supervisor William Rudnick also responded to the scene.
The mother was placed in the back of an ambulance, where they assisted her in delivering the baby, authorities said.
The woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl, officials said. The woman and her baby were then transported to a local hospital; they are both in stable
