CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- A one-of-its kind clinic in Central Illinois is opening its doors and helping people through eating disorders.
Champaign's KC Eating Disorder Clinic had its grand opening last week and it is already helping clients with psychologists and dieticians. The clinic’s CEO Kaitlyn Cornell said it's the only place in the state, outside of Chicago, exclusively focusing on eating disorders.
She said it's needed in the area because it's not something other medical professionals tend to focus on.
"Your doctor is not necessarily asking you, ‘Give me a 24-hour recall of what you just ate. Are you engaging in any purging behaviors? Do you feel fear around food? Do you have any type of feelings for food? How is your relationship with food?’ They're not typically asking those q
