ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KVOA) - A hazardous materials incident involving pool chemicals prompted a swift response from the Golder Ranch Fire District (GRFD) at an intersection on Tuesday.

GRFD's Hazmat Team responded the intersection of La Cholla Boulevard and Naranja Drive around 4:35 p.m. to address the situation, ensuring it was neutralized and contained quickly.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

As a precaution, two homes were evacuated and two additional homes were advised to shelter in place. GRFD confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.

GRFD remind residents that pool chemicals can pose significant hazards if mixed improperly. It's crucial to adhere to manufacturer instructions, avoid mixing chemicals unless specified and store them safely.
