BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — For the third time in just two years, there’s a new leader at the helm of Southern football. Fred McNair has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season following the university’s decision to part ways with Terrence Graves. The move comes as the Jaguars sit at 1-6, their worst start since 1971.
McNair, who joined Southern in 2024 as the tight ends coach, was moved to quarterbacks coach heading into this season, and after Week 3, was named co-offensive coordinator. He will continue in those roles while stepping into the head coaching position.
