HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A plan to redevelop a large chunk of land in Huntington is clearing the next part of the approval process.

The Huntington Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday gave its stamp of approval for the site development.

The plot of land is located between 3rd and 5th avenues at 24th Street. The city is planning to have a Kroger Marketplace grocery store be the centerpiece of the development, with the intention of adding some other stores and businesses in the future.

Kathy Burns, owner of the project site, said they plan on incorporating the community in the project build.
