STATE COLLEGE — Penn State’s injury report coming out of the 25-24 Iowa loss this past weekend isn’t looking great on either side of the ball.
With starting quarterback Drew Allar already out for the season, now-backup Jaxon Smolik departed his role Saturday as a gadget runner with what appeared to be a left arm/hand injury.
The offense was not visible during Tuesday’s practice viewing session , so we’re unsure if Smolik was practicing alongside starter Ethan Grunkemeyer.
But interim head coach Terry Smith didn’t have much to say afterward about his status.
“We’ve got this bye week, so we’re going to take that time to see where he is,” Smith said. “But there’s no update right now.”
Smolik played 11 snaps in Penn State’s fourth straight loss. He ran four times, gaining three yard
