ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two Carroll County parents were arrested and charged after their three young children were found severely neglected at a campsite, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason and Kira Askea were charged with first degree cruelty to children.

The sheriff’s office said in July, deputies responded to a campsite at Little Tallapoosa Park after someone called and said they saw two children who looked like they had not eaten in days and appeared to be covered in feces.
