DULUTH, Minn.- The first round of the Minnesota prep football playoffs began on Tuesday night.

In section 7AAA, Esko hosted Proctor in the quarterfinals.

Esko defended their home turf, defeating the Rails 50-0.

Esko will hit the road on Saturday, October 25th, to take on Pierz in the semifinal round.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Over in section 7AAAA, the Cloquet Lumberjacks made the trip to Denfeld to take on the Hunters.

A close battle at Walt Hunting Stadium, as the Hunters and Cloquet ended the first half tied 6-6.

But in the second half, the Hunters pulled away with a 18-12 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Duluth Denfeld will face Grand Rapids on Saturday, October 25th, with a trip to the section title game on the line.
