LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Some Jefferson County Public Schools parents say they're concerned about a proposed boundary change to alleviate overcrowding at Echo Trail Middle School.

JCPS Chief of Schools Robert Moore said Echo Trail Middle School has experienced faster-than-expected growth. Sixth-grade enrollment has jumped 25% since the school opened two years ago, and without changes, Echo Trail is projected to be at 123% utilization next year.

To ease crowding, the district is considering moving some prospective Echo Trail students who live north of I-64 and west of Valhalla Golf Club to Crosby Middle School. Roughly 90 sixth graders would be affected next year.
