New Delhi: OpenAI has officially made the market within the web browser industry with the release of ChatGPT Atlas , a new AI-driven web browser centred around its popular chatbot. The shift is a direct threat to the lead of Google Chrome and is a significant milestone of OpenAI outside the chat-based applications. Having more than 800 million ChatGPT users every week, the company seeks to incorporate AI in daily browsing – enabling users to search, summarise, and perform tasks without tab switching. The shares of Alphabet fell 1.8 percent after the announcement.
