EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, the Michigan State women's basketball team is close to beginning year three of the Robyn Fralick era.

The Spartans have their first exhibition of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 22, against Michigan Tech, and will officially begin the season on Nov. 4 against Mercyhurst.

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, MSU held its media day at the Breslin Center to preview the upcoming year.

Senior forward Grace VanSlooten and senior guard Abbey Kimball will be the two captains for the green and white this season. Players who were interested in being a captain had to give a speech to the team on why they would be a good captain.

Both VanSlooten and Kimball say it's a great honor to be a captain.
