SIOUX FALLS, S.D. and GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Augustana Vikings hosted 6th-ranked Wayne State Tuesday night at the “new look” Elmen Center.
The Wildcats took the first 2 sets behind the play of Delaney Miller with 22 kills and Chloe Hanel with 17. But the Vikings rebound to win the 3rd set. Brooke Berens with 14 and Maya Wente with 15 kills led the way for Augustana.
But Wayne State responded with a 25-15 win in set 4 to take the match and improved to 18-3, 11-1. The Vikings are now 9-11, 3-9.
In Grand Forks, the first place Jackrabbits of SDSU steam-rolled North Dakota in straight sets 25-20, 25-13, 25-11. Sylvie Zgonc led with 13 kills as the Jacks improved to 14-3 overall and 8-0 in Summit League play.
