REDLANDS — The first set of Tuesday night’s CIF Southern Section Division 2 girls volleyball playoff opener was up for grabs.
Redlands won the final five points of that frame and never relinquished the momentum en route to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-7 victory over Etiwanda.
The Terriers are back at home Thursday for a second-round match against San Clemente, which also posted a sweep in their playoff opener.
“That first set was pretty intense,” Redlands senior libero Ava Reyes said. “But that’s the thing about this team. We just find ways to win those close sets. It happened twice against Beaumont (in Citrus Belt League play). … We felt the energy in the gym building throughout the match.”
