A Silver Alert was activated Tuesday for a 78-year-old woman last seen in East Los Angeles

Florencia Rojas-Moreno was last seen around 7:30 a.m. Saturday near Herbert Avenue and First Street, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Moreno was described as a 5-foot-tall woman weighing 120 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt, pants and navy blue shoes.

Anyone with information regarding Moreno’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
