KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was sworn in as the president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the TBI announced.
David Rausch was sworn in Tuesday night in Denver. He will serve as the president of IACP, an association of police leaders with more than 35,000 members in 170 countries, according to the group's website. Brandon Gibson, chief operating officer of Governor Lee's office, administered the oath of office.

Lee appointed Rausch director of the TBI in 2018. Before that, he served as the Knoxville chief of police.
