PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — Pigeon Forge running back Ayden Hood had a record-breaking game in the Tiger's 59-33 win over Cocke County last Friday to secure WATE Player of the Week honors.
The senior totaled over 450 rushing yards on 26 carries, and seven total touchdowns, one coming off a pick-six. Numbers that broke several school and state records.
Hood, typically lined up as a running back, was shifted to quarterback for the game to give Pigeon Forge an edge. One of a few situations the Tigers have been toying with in practice after a 0-6 start to the season.
"We had watched film on Cocke County and they've kind of struggled a little bit with quarterbacks that can run so we wanted to try to use that to just help us."
