Moves to increase safety at a major route into Plymouth could be stepped up after 17 pedestrians were injured in collisions there in four years.
Mutley Plain is believed to have one of the highest rates of pedestrian casualties across Devon and Cornwall.
There were 16 collisions on that stretch of road between January 2020 and December 2024, more than half at the intersection near Chester Place and Alexandra Road.
A petition of hundreds of names, instigated by Sutton and Devonport Labour MP Luke Pollard and supported by local councillors, has been submitted to Plymouth City Council requesting a controlled crossing at that location.
