Police say they have recovered more than £11,000 worth of suspected stolen tools after being alerted to sales on Facebook Marketplace.

Investigators from Plymouth's Priority Crime Investigation Team were alerted to an alleged burglary on Monday (October 20) at a National Grid site near to the St Budeaux bypass in Plymouth.

Police said an alleged victim at National Grid said suspected stolen tools were being sold on Facebook Marketplace.

Detectives from the team attended a man's home address whereupon they arrested him and his partner on suspicion of burglary.

Police said a subsequent search of the property revealed a large haul of tools and equipment, some of which were later linked to a number of commercial burglaries that occurred in Liskeard and South Hams during September.
