ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A former St. Louis Sheriff’s Office employee is suing the City of St. Louis and Sheriff Alfred Montgomery, claiming she was fired for cooperating in the state’s quo warranto investigation.

According to court documents, Tashana Syas, the former director of personnel and fiscal operations for the sheriff’s office, claims she was fired for testifying in the state’s quo warranto investigation.

She was deposed on August 26, 2025, and was fired on September 11, 2025.

Syas claims, without any prior knowledge, she was led to a room and was “ambushed” by several attorneys, Sheriff Montgomery, and former St. Louis circuit court Judge David Mason. Her lawsuit states she was led through an intense interrogation where she was being “falsely accused of things she did
