ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The Fort Zumwalt School District said that a student was seen in a social media post holding a loaded gun in a bathroom on campus.

The incident occurred at Fort Zumwalt East High School on Tuesday. After the post was brought to the attention of the administration and the police, the student was removed from campus.

School leaders said that additional police will be at the high school out of an abundance of caution. They also said that mental health professionals and counselors are on hand to assist any students and staff who may need them.
