BINGHAMTON, New York (WBNG) - One lane of I-81 N has been closed in the City of Binghamton between Exits 11 and 12 as emergency and cleanup crews respond to a tractor-trailer rollover.

According to 511 NY, the rollover happened around 4 a.m. when crews responded to a fuel spill, overturned tractor-trailer, and tractor-trailer fire.

The Binghamton Fire Department stated that the driver was able to make it out of the vehicle on his own prior to the fire crews’ arrival.

As of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office said traffic was still significantly disrupted.

The agency is asking the public to avoid the area throughout the morning and consider alternate routes if possible.
