CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - The Cairo Police Department is hosting a Halloween pet costume contest for community members looking to show off their animals’ Halloween spirit.

Pet owners can enter by posting photos of their costumed animals on the department’s Facebook page under the contest post . The department said it wants to see pets in the cutest, scariest or funniest Halloween costumes.

The contest ends on Halloween, and the winner will be determined by the most likes on their photo. The department will announce the winner Friday, Nov. 1.

The winning pet owner will receive a $50 Walmart gift card and recognition from the police department.
