The right time to get hot during a sports season is typically at the end of the season, and after a blistering start from the Emporia Spartans to start the year, they are getting hot at the right time to finish the season. After getting through arguably the toughest part of the year that saw the Spartans go 1-3-1, the team is now 3-1-0 in their last four, with a loss to Washburn Rural.

The Spartans suited up for Pink Out night, wearing pink kits to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and faced off against St. Mary’s Academy. These two have faced each other twice already, with the Spartans winning both matchups. That trend continued as the Spartans would get a clean sheet while scoring three goals to bring their record to 9-5-1.
