The Walmart Gas Station, at 2301 Industrial Road, is now open for business.

The new addition to the Emporia Walmart location began construction in April and held its grand opening Wednesday morning. The station features 10 gas pumps and a large convenience store.

Mick Schroeder, Emporia Walmart General Manager, said that the gas station brings something new to Emporia.

“A big portion of this was how we can give back to our community and this was a big first step, giving a nice brand new fuel station at a really good price,” Schroeder said. “Walmart+ members save 10 cents a gallon, and savings for all and anything we can put back in our pockets is definitely best for all of us.”
