PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It was a night celebrating excellence in journalism at Temple University in North Philadelphia.

Action News reporter Beccah Hendrickson was recognized as a rising star by her alma mater. The university also presented the 2025 Lew Klein Excellence in Media Award to World News Tonight anchor and managing editor David Muir.

ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks President Debra OConnell was there to present Muir with the prestigious award.

"I think it's so important that we all in this room remember to look behind us and make sure the door is open for the next person to come through," said Muir.

During his remarks, Muir offered inspiration to aspiring journalists.

"There is no time more important to be a journalist in our country than right now," he said
