The Palm Springs City Council will consider this week nearly tripling the city's contribution to the annual Palm Springs Pride Festival.
An updated contract with Greater Palm Springs Pride, the organization that runs the event, would see the city's annual allocation increase from $125,000 to $350,000. All of the city's current and proposed contribution is "in-kind," which means it is not a direct cash infusion, but in the form of providing services like security and maintenance at no charge.
