A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a soccer field in Southern California, striking a pedestrian during landing, local officials are reporting.
The incident took place about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, on 6300 block of Carson in Heartwell Park , the Long Beach Fire Department reported.
The site is about 9 miles northeast of downtown Long Beach.
It was not immediately known whether anyone died, but two people – a pilot and pedestrian – were taken to hospitals.
