Police officers helped save a man who was bleeding heavily following a stabbing in Hartlepool. Just after 7pm on Tuesday, the Hartlepool Response Team was called to Glastonbury Walk in the Throston area of the town. A 62-year-old had suffered an arterial bleed and was losing a lot of blood.
PCs McDonald and Chatterton stepped in and stemmed the bleed using the victim’s own belt as a tourniquet. Cleveland Police said their actions managed to save the man’s life.
He was taken to hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery. A 45-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
