BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good afternoon!

It’s been a chilly start to the morning. Temperatures cooled into the upper 30s in parts of northwest Alabama.

With plenty of sunshine and dry air in place, temperatures have warmed into the low-to-mid-60s shortly before noon.

We will enjoy plenty of blue sky and sunshine this afternoon with highs climbing into the lower 70s. Winds are forecast to come from the northwest today at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.

Winds should decrease this evening and become light. Light wind and dry air will allow our temperatures to cool quickly tonight. If you have any evening plans, you’ll likely need the jacket. We will remain clear with temperatures cooling into the upper 50s and lower 60s by 7 p.m.
