HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County Precinct 1 says a 16-year-old is in custody after shots were fired near NRG Stadium on Wednesday.

According to deputies, Pct. 1 responded to a "discharge of firearms" call just after 9 a.m. on Kirby Drive near McNee Road.

When they arrived, deputies said they found one juvenile with superficial wounds, though they did not further describe their injuries.

Pct. 1 said it appears three students left a juvenile alternative school and were walking when they encountered another group of young people.

That's when deputies say an argument took place and shots were fired.

Authorities say the 16-year-old who's in custody will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
