County officials Wednesday announced that they would conduct a training exercise Thursday morning at McClellan-Palomar Airport, complete with emergency vehicles.

“County officials are letting the public know not to be concerned if they see emergency vehicles and lots of activity at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 23,” the county said in an online statement.

County airport staff, multiple public and private agencies, and volunteers will practice a realistic disaster drill.

Preparations will begin at 6:30 a.m. Thursday. The exercise itself will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the west tie-down area, 2198 Palomar Airport Road. • Palomar Airport Road
