MEDINA, Ohio — After locating a missing 3-year-old girl on Wednesday afternoon, the Medina Police Department reports that a family acquaintance has been charged with her kidnapping.

According to a release, Medina police officers were called around 1:30 p.m. to a home on Hunter Road in Lafayette Township for a report of a missing child. Police immediately launched a search of the area, deploying K-9 units, drones, all-terrain vehicles, and issuing alerts on social media. The Medina County Child Abduction Response Team was activated soon after.

Around 3:30 p.m., dispatchers with Medina Police and the Medina County Sheriff's Office received reports that a child matching the missing girl;s description had been spotted at a home on Buffham Road in Westfield Township. Officers and deputies
