A Dutchess County man previously arrested during the Jan. 6, 2021, riots in Washington, D.C., has been charged with making terroristic threats against U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
The state police and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force announced the arrest of Christopher Moynihan, 34, of Clinton.
He was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.
The state police were advised by the task force on Oct. 18 that Moynihan had made threats to kill a member of Congress.
State police did not specify Jeffries as the target of those threats, but Jeffries himself did so in a statement issued after Moynihan's arrest.
Troopers said following a thorough investigation, Moynihan was arrested and arraigned in Town of Clinton Court.
