SALEM, Ore. - The Medicare Open Enrollment for 2026 plans is underway, running from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

According to the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), this period allows Medicare beneficiaries to review and alter their coverage for the coming year. The Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program offers free assistance to help individuals compare plans and understand their benefits. Jane-ellen Weidanz of ODHS emphasized the importance of choosing the right Medicare plan, highlighting the significant impact on health and finances.
