DALLAS — A little over 2 million people attended the State Fair of Texas this year, marking the lowest number of visitors to the fair in a decade.

Shortly after the fair opened, thin crowds prompted questions about attendance this year, and we now have official numbers to compare with years past. In 2025, the State Fair of Texas welcomed more than 2 million people through the gates of Fair Park, fair officials said in a press release.

A couple of days later, the fair released its official number: 2,020,064

Last year, about 2.38 million people attended the fair.

The 2025 number is the lowest attendance record in a decade. Midway through the fair, a video depicting sparse crowds drew social media comments expressing frustration over the cost of the fair.
