SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Special Olympics South Dakota has announced the appointment of their new President and Chief Executive Officer.
The organization has announced that Nick Moen will begin his new role on Oct. 27, 2025. Moen will replace outgoing CEO, Darryl Nordquist, who will be transitioning to an advisory role within Special Olympics South Dakota.
“Nick embodies the spirit of Special Olympics — dedication, teamwork, and respect for every individual,” said David Herbster, Vice-Chair of the SOSD Board of Directors. “His leadership will strengthen our mission to provide year-round sports training, sports competitions, inclusion, and health programs across the state.”
Most recently, Moen served as the Assistant Director of Athletics at Augustana University.
