NEWARK - Former President Barack Obama will visit Newark to rally behind Democrat nominee Mikie Sherrill in the final days of the state’s contentious governor’s race.
Obama is scheduled to campaign for Sherrill at a Get Out the Vote for New Jersey Democrats rally in Newark from 2:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, just three days before Election Day.
A location for the rally has not been announced yet by Sherrill’s campaign team.
“President Obama reminds us what we can accomplish when we leaders are unafraid to take on big challenges to deliver,” Sherrill said in a statement. “He led historic efforts to insure millions of Americans and lower health care costs.
“The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Jack Ciattarelli is supporting (President Donald) Trump’s attacks on New Jersey.”
