Clearing skies and calming winds are setting up more comfortable days, but also much colder nights ahead!
Frost Advisories have been issued for most counties in our area, except for Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside Counties where a Freeze Warning is in place. All alerts are in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Thursday.
Clouds clearing out tonight will allow temperatures to fall to near 32°, especially across northwestern Illinois. A continued slight breeze may prevent widespread frost development, making it more patchy in areas sheltered from the wind.
If we don't get below freezing tonight, it definitely looks like we will Thursday night/Friday morning with some spots potentially dipping into the upper 20s! The first freeze is coming around 10 days later than average this fall.
